    Teenage daughters Empty Teenage Daughter

Hi, I am new to this site, just wanted to say that I also have a teenage daughter, she is nearly 14. It is really heartbreaking when your child who you have got on with so well for years just totally changes at a certain age and turns into someone who criticises all the time, thinks that they know everything and is only nice to you or even responds to you when they want something. And when you ask them to do one little thing, it escalates into a huge argument, it is awful, I would just love my cheerful, bright best little friend back!
The advice I have been given is to totally ignore any negative talk and be really positive and not seem to show our teenagers that they upset us lol, which I guess is going to be incredibly hard for any Mum who puts up with it constantly, here's hoping they grow out of it soon! cheers

I have to say im so lucky my daughter who is 15 is such a diamond. Yes shes lazy, her rooms untidy but she does well at school and loves to be with me. Everyone comments about us being best of friends. What i worry about is that shes intent on leaving to moved outta uk as quick as she can. This is the result of having 2 older brothers that have run amock! How can this be. What did i do wrong with them!

I doubt very much it is something you did wrong i am sure they will come alright in the long wrong did they just get in with the wrong crowd? not much you can do about that.
Thankfully my daughter and I have come out the other end and have a much better relationship now thank goodness
